Johnson Controls Global Products Engineering organization, you will
design and support the electronics hardware products for several of
our Business Unit product lines. You will report to the Electronics
Hardware Engineering Manager. In this position you will work in
close collaboration with other engineers to deliver market leading
products.What you will do:
- Design and support various product families of electronics for
the Building Controls industry. This includes equipment
controllers, building automation system controllers, network
engines, thermostats, sensors, refrigeration controls, electronic
actuators, and valves. - -This includes new product development,
sustaining engineering, and VA/VE (engineering product cost
reductions).
- Determines best approach for engineering problem solving.

- Determines best approach for electronics hardware development
cycle from concept to production.
- Expert in electronics -circuit development , both digital and
analog .
- Provides system level design architecture for new product
development. Defines MCU / MPU platform strategy .
- Defines specifications for parts, design, and testing.
- Provide innovative idea generation in product development
process improvements and refinements particularly as they apply to
electronic hardware development.
- Participate in system development activity to assure our
designs are technically sound and we meet requirements and
compliance standards (CE, UL, FCC, etc.).
- Provide oversight on development projects to ensure diligence
to product development process is being maintained.
- Actively advocate innovation and drive continuous improvement.
- Drive excellence. - Keep self and team current with technology
and industry practices.

- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years of experience (8 with MSEE) of electronic
circuit design in a product development environment, preferably
with circuit design of embedded microprocessor-based controls (for
applications such as industrial automation, HVAC, automotive).
- Demonstrated ability to influence others, to lead and
participate in decision-making and to make effective presentations,
both written and oral.
- Schematic entry (required) and circuit board layout (preferred)
experience, preferably with Mentor Graphics DxDesigner and
Expedition
- Experience with electronic test equipment including
multimeters, oscilloscopes, environmental chambers, and spectrum
analyzers.
- Understand requirements, write, and execute test plans and
problem solving.
- Prioritize working on multiple concurrent projects.
- Work under minimal supervision and eager to help teammates in
high workflow situations.
- Expertise in product development efforts from inception to
